Ukrainian filmmaker wins at Milan Film Festival in the Fragrances In Motion Award category
Kyiv-based film director Maria Yevtushenko received a special award from the Olibere Perfume House for the best short film created in collaboration with designer Artem Klimchuk.
The Fragrances In Motion Awards, established by Marjorie Olibere, the creative director of the Olibere Perfume House, explore the connection between the worlds of perfumery and cinema through her brand.

Contestants from around the world were invited to submit videos no longer than two minutes, inspired by an Olibere fragrance. According to Dmitry Slesarev, the founder of parfum büro and the official representative of Olibere, this year saw the highest number of participants coming from Ukraine.

As a result of the voting, the Fragrances In Motion award was given to a video by director Maria Yevtushenko, created in collaboration with designer ARTEMKLIMCHUK. The concept of the video, which was shot in 2015 as a promotional piece for Klimchuk's pre-fall 2016 collection, belongs to him.

The video, titled "8" (a nod to the shape of the Super 8 camera lens embodied in the Olibere bottle), tells the story of four young women from a 19th-century finishing school for noble girls. One of the main roles was performed by supermodel Ella Kandyba. ARTEMKLIMCHUK's designs further emphasize the mystical atmosphere of the short film.

The Olibere award is not the first recognition for the "8" video. In 2015, the short film won first place in the Fashion Move On competition by Ukrainian Fashion Week, supported by ELLE Ukraine.
